My Introduction to Feminism

If you are as old as me or older, you may remember when you could order books and records through a mail order club. This is how I first came across and read a fictional biography of Mary Wollstonecraft – renowned feminist and political philosopher (and mother of Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein).

This book exposed me to feminism in a way I had not thought about it before. It lit me up a bit, but not enough to label myself as a feminist because of the barriers I described in an earlier blog post.

Through this series, I hope to expose a few people to the ideas of feminism and reframe it in a way that resonates with what I see as its ideals and its potential.

In the next few posts, I further explain my ideas about feminist leadership and provide some practical suggestions to practice it.
