Jessica Aviva, Ph.D., FRSA is a movement builder, strategist, author, and educator who works alongside social sector leaders to create flourishing organizations and communities.

Jessica is the founding director of The Fruition Coalition, where she convenes The Garden Party for a Flourishing World, publishes Fruition Journal, and creates collaborative learning experiences that reimagine leadership and organizational possibilities while inspiring sustainable action. With more than 20 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector and 14 years of university-based teaching, she bridges scholarship and practice to share insight into how organizations, leaders, and movements can flourish.

 

Jessica is the author of The Joy of Feminist Leadership! and more than 15 books exploring leadership, social change, and flourishing. She advocates for women’s well-being in the social sector through Nonprofit Wildflowers and is the host of Legends from the Nonprofit Crypt, The Loving Uprising, and Conspirators for the Nonprofit Revolution.

Jessica earned degrees in organizational leadership, nonprofit management, sociology, and marketing. Her doctoral dissertation, Portraits of Women Leaders: Solidarity and Social Division in Progressive Social Movement Organizations, explored how women navigate the complexities of identity while working toward solidarity.
